Leadership & Narrative Coach
Somewhere along the way, you stopped hearing your own voice. This season is calling you back to yourself.
Start with a free 45-minute conversation about the season you’re in.
It rarely looks like falling apart. Most days you’re still showing up, still delivering, still holding it all together.
If you nodded along, you’re in a season of becoming.
You are already enough, and this season is asking for a truer story, steady ground, and the courage to take your next aligned step. That’s the work we do together.
Burnout is often the cost of living by “should.” Rest helps you recover. A truer story helps you build a life that fits.
Like a tree adding a ring each season, growth happens in layers. We move through four of them together.
Movement 1
We look honestly at the story you’ve been living, where it came from, and what you’ve already overcome.
Movement 2
We rebuild self-trust: noticing the signals you’ve been overriding, making room for rest, and setting boundaries that hold.
Movement 3
We get clear on who this season is asking you to become and what has been calling you.
Movement 4
We turn clarity into courageous, structured action before you feel fully ready.
Twelve weeks of one-on-one coaching through the Chrysalis Method. It’s built for seasons of burnout and life or career transition, when you’re ready to live from who you really are.
We spend about three weeks in each movement, working with the story you’ve been carrying and the life that’s calling you.
“This leads to courage.”
My doctoral research at the University of Florida asked what happens when people slow down to examine and tell their own stories. I studied a structured self-narrative process with undergraduate leadership students, using a mixed-methods design: original questionnaires paired with focus groups, personal interviews, and an observational site visit.
Participants reported statistically significant gains in self-efficacy, their belief in their own ability, and in personal hardiness, the set of attitudes that helps people meet stress with courage instead of avoidance.
Hardiness, in plain language
Believing your life is spent on things that matter.
In our work: reconnecting with what you value and what’s been calling you.
Believing your choices shape your outcomes.
In our work: trusting your own voice and making decisions from it again.
Seeing a hard season as a chance to grow.
In our work: treating this season as a doorway instead of something to survive.
Burnout tends to wear down exactly these things: your sense of meaning, your sense of agency, and your belief that you can handle what’s in front of you. The Chrysalis Method brings this research into coaching for adults in a season of change.

It’s pronounced “Jaren.”
I grew up in Winterville, North Carolina, my mother’s hometown. My father’s story began an ocean away, in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Being a son of both places taught me early that the stories we carry shape who we believe we can become. Even as a kid, I knew I was meant to help people grow.
Years ago, I was working as a soil scientist, standing in the middle of the woods, when it hit me: if my life ended that day, I wouldn’t feel I had lived a fulfilled or authentic life. My own limiting beliefs had put me there. I’d been sitting on half-finished graduate school applications for years.
That day I decided to stop being my own biggest critic. I finished my application to the University of Florida without knowing how I’d pay for it or whether my scores were enough. I only knew it was my next aligned step. I received a full scholarship and drove everything I owned from Winterville to Gainesville in a white Nissan Altima.
Since then, I’ve taught leadership at the University of Florida, led hundreds of self-narration trainings, and found coaching while working at Amazon: the deeper version of the work I’d always loved. When layoffs came, I had newborn twins at home, and I chose to keep building anyway.
Today I walk with people through the same season I’ve walked through myself, bringing research, lived experience, and deep respect for the story you’re carrying.
